How to Create an Online Membership System (OMS) account, please do the following.
- Visit National website at www.vfw.org/
- Click ‘Login’ in the upper right hand corner.
- Click the red button ‘Sign up with Troop ID’
- Enter email address and create password.
- Check the “I accept the ID.me Terms of Service and Privacy Policy” check box. This will log you in.
- You will be prompted with (5) different options to verify your military status.
1. Verify using USAA Membership
2. Check military service records
3. Request your DD214
4. Use a .mil e-mail address
5. Upload military documentation
- From now on when you login, you will have to click the red button ‘Sign in with Troop ID’.
Please refer to the “Selecting the right verification method for you” FAQ article for more information on which method you can use to get verified.
After you complete the Troop ID verification you will be asked to verify as a Veterans of Foreign Wars member, you’ll need to provide your VFW Membership Number.
