<p>Joseph “Todd” Henderson, age 61, passed away on February 8, 2026, at 4:20pm at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama following a short illness.&nbsp; Todd was a lifelong resident of George County, Mississippi. He was a 1982 graduate of George County High School and proudly enlisted in the United States Army shortly thereafter.</p>



<p>While in the Army, Todd was a member of the Special Forces, a Sergeant in the Green Beret, and served in multiple deployments, including several deployments to Afghanistan. He served his country proudly and loudly. Throughout his distinguished military career, Todd received numerous decorations, including the Army Commendation Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal, among many others.</p>



<p>Following his retirement from the Army, Todd continued his lifelong commitment to supporting fellow service members through active involvement in the VFW.</p>



<p>Todd found great joy in being outdoors, raising chickens, gardening and spending time with his beloved wolf dogs, most notably Taz. He also enjoyed working on classic cars, like his old Camaro and Trans Am. He lived life on his own terms, fully and simply.</p>



<p>Todd will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.</p>



<p>He is preceded in death by his mother, Violet Martin Henderson, older brother, Karl Thomas Henderson and infant daughter, Kyra Jack Henderson.</p>



<p>Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Chelsey Lauren Henderson of Plant City, Florida, and Skyler Patton Henderson of Lucedale, Mississippi ; grandchildren, Adriana June Webre and Caithan Thomas Mcveay ; father, Joseph Thomas Henderson; siblings, Joey Stance (Vickie) Henderson, Kristie Dawn (Casey) Dillistone and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
